At Waikiki we acknowledge the importance of child led learning and development, taking a holistic approach to ensure that we are catering for the unique needs, interests, and developmental stages of all children in our service.

Our environments enable strong connections with nature, this is observed through interactions with our centre chicken, grape vines, veggie patch and herb garden, whilst further extending on children’s learning, by providing natural resources throughout our learning environments.

Our experienced team consists of educators with vast and various interests and cultural backgrounds, to enable us to provide a well rounded and encompassing approach to early childhood learning and development.

Education

My World Seville Grove only employ qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Our staff are well educated and highly experienced.Our curriculum is based on the highly-regarded Reggio Emilia approach. We follow the National Quality Framework and provide a Kindy Program run by our Bachelor level teachers. This framework is the same framework used in all Australian kindergartens.

Enrolment Process

We encourage families to visit our centre at any time during operational hours for a walkthrough and overview of what we can offer at our centre.Once a family has completed their tour they are offered an enrolment pack and guided through the paperwork process to ensure becoming one of our family members is of ease.

Waikiki

Our service consists of three rooms - our Babies room, catering for children aged 0-2, our Toddlers room, catering for children aged 2-3 and our Kindy room, catering for children aged 3-6. At Waikiki we have regular incursions from Miss Jodie at Happy Feet Fitness, where families are provided the opportunity to extend their children development through the fitness and movement program. We also welcome Derrick from Planet Soccer, to assist children extend on their interest in soccer, focusing on having fun, gaining confidence and learning skills along the way.

At My World our philosophy is underpinned by the attachment theory, this places an emphasis on significant bonds between educators and children, being responsive to each child’s individual needs, this is further established through our circle of security practises. Our service has undergone renovations, offering a clean, calming, home away from home environment, that is ready to welcome our community. Our vision is to create an environment where everyone is welcome and part of our family.

My name is Jordan, I am the service manager at My World in Waikiki. I have worked in the early childhood education and care industry for 14 years. I started my journey as a certificate 3 educator, completing my diploma shortly after and throughout my career have worked in various positions providing me with a vast knowledge and understanding of children development and the early childhood industry.

As a mum of two myself, I understand how hard it is to entrust others with care of your precious little ones and my goal is to make our service a home away from home. In my spare time you will find me enjoying the outdoors with my family, I have a love of nature which you will see throughout our service.

Throughout my experience in our industry I have gained inspiration and a strong connection with various early childhood theorists, one in particular is Loris Malaguzzi, believing that children are confident, capable learners, placing a strong value on the environment as a third teacher. My door is always open for our families to input on our service and their child’s learning journey, working together to enable the children in our care to reach their full potential.
